Just towards the end of last term, I learned how to do a chine colle print i.e. incorporating fragments of paper into a print by carefully applying PVA and then putting them onto the printing plate just before running the print through the press. This was the result. I can see this having potential for ‘fractured landscape’.

Nice textures, nice colors, you’re right, this could work for a landscape, I can also see it used for a face or even two, something quite dramatic – see the left hand side(top) and right hand side(bottom. If put on a larger piece of paper, those two shapes could be worked with pressed charcoal into something very expressionistic..
